DC-Area Translation Company Chosen for Its Expertise in Multilingual Social Media

LEESBURG, VA – April 30, 2012 –  Recognized as a leader in multilingual outreach and the growing business of multilingual social media, UNO Translations and Interpretations (UNO) garnered a new client today with Mom’s Clean Air Force, a non-partisan, activist non-profit dedicated to protecting and advancing clean air policies.

“I met Brigitta several years ago when we were both on the Marketing Committee for the International Children’s Festival, and have watched her business grow to become one of the region’s leading providers of translation services. When we realized we needed a bilingual strategy for our social media, Brigitta is the only one I thought to call,” said George Bounacos, from Silver Beacon Marketing, who works with Mom’s Clean Air Force on the project.

The English handle for Mom’s Twitter account is @MomsCAF so the fitting Spanish handle will be @MadresCAF. The UNO bilingual social media team will translate tweets and consult on Mom’s social media strategy to its Spanish speaking audiences.

“Despite what people may think, marketing language can never be a strict word-for-word translation. This type of writing is very informal and creative. It must be thought through carefully, with professionally trained translators.” says Toruño. ‘My team has the added benefit of experience building multicultural marketing campaigns, so Mom’s will get the benefit of both services and we’re really pleased to provide this service for such an important cause.”
